Alice Cooper lauda chitaristul Johnny Depp

Intr-un interviu recent, Alice Cooper a dezvaluit ca dragul sau coleg de trupa, dl. Johnny Depp, este un excelent chitarist. Mi-au sarit in ochi anumite pasaje:

He's not new to playing on stage, people are going to be very surprised when they hear him play because they know him as Jack Sparrow. When they see a guitar in his band they going to say 'wait a minute, I didn't have any idea he could play like that'. He's a real guitar player. I wouldn't be working with anybody that wasn't as good as anybody I've worked with normally.

Last year we were testing the waters to see if people were even going to be interested in what we were doing and we found that they were, we got great reactions and sold out quite a few places. I think a lot of that might have been out of curiosity, Joe Perry, Johnny Depp and Alice Cooper, what a weird combination.

Joe can do Aerosmith all day, I can do Alice Cooper all day. I think Johnny might have been the one that was the most nervous about it.

Once we got done with rehearsal and we heard what it sounded like and we were confident with the excitement of the show, all went away. Once you get in front of the audience, that goes away.

If you look at who our friends were, most of them were classic British rock bands, so if we're doing The Who or the Rolling Stones, I want them to understand how much we respect those bands, that's why we're doing those songs. But there are four or five original Vampires songs that I think they're going to dig.

Si, ca sa fiu carcotas, ma intreb: de ce tine sa-l laude pe Depp? In opinia mea, motivul e simplu: vrea sa convinga publicul ca JD nu a fost luat in trupa numai ca sa vanda bilete. Personal, nu am o ureche muzicala prea dezvoltata si sunt convins ca, pentru un actor full-time al carui hobby e chitara, JD se descurca foarte bine. N-o sa rupa cu vreun solo, dar nici n-o s-o dea in bara. Probabil ca asta a vrut sa zica Alice Cooper: domn'e, Johnny Depp canta corect.

Faza asta imi aduce aminte de after-party-ul de dupa concertul Shakirei de la Timisoara, din 2007. Am primit o invitatie de la o prietena si speram sa apara si Shakira, dar nu a fost sa fie. In schimb, am putut sta de vorba cateva minute cu doi din membrii trupei care o insotea si am vrut sa aflu de la lead guitarist daca Shakira stie sa cante la chitara, pentru ca o vazusem in concert cu chitara in mana. In gluma, l-am intrebat daca chitara Shakirei e plugged in in timpul concertului. A zambit, mi-a zis ca da, e conectata, dar e data mai incet
