The need for a Time Base Corrector

Capturing  from VHS can be tricky. A good time base corrector (either built into the VCR or a standalone unit) stabilizes the image, keeps the sound in sync and has some controls like brightness, sharpness and so on, applied at hardware level. Here's a good example of the need to use a TBC when capturing VHS tapes.
