Selling Fees
The fees that eBay charges vary based on the selling format, category, and features you select.
How it works
The basic fees for most listings work this way:
When you list an item for sale, you're charged an Insertion Fee.
If the item sells, you are also charged a Final Value Fee.
The total cost of selling an item is the Insertion Fee plus the Final Value Fee.
Note: This applies to Online Auction, Fixed Price, and Store Inventory listings. eBay Motors and Classified Ad listings have a different fee structure.
eBay also charges fees for optional features that enhance your listing (reserve price, Subtitle, Bold, Gallery, etc.).
Example
Suppose you list an item in Online Auction format.
You set a starting price of $9.99, with no reserve price. The Insertion Fee is $0.40.
You select the Gallery feature. The fee for this optional feature is $0.35.
The item sells for $25.00. The Final Value Fee is 5.25% of that amount, or $1.31.
Thus the total amount charged in this example is $2.01 ($0.40 + $0.35 + $1.31).
